Houston Irish Stew Cook-off and Music Festival (February 17, 2024) Houston St. Patrick's Parade Commission also organizes other themed events, namely the Houston Irish Stew Cook-off and Music Festival, set to take place a month before the parade. The FM 1960 Saint Patrick’s Parade began in 1975 as a pub crawl along FM 1960. Over the years, it has grown into one of the largest St. Paddy’s Parades in Texas drawing tens of thousands of spectators. In the beginning, the parade raised money for Cypress Creek EMS, the non-profit 9-1-1 responder that provides POST Houston St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration. Enjoy a full day of gold at POST Houston for St. Patrick’s Day. A parade will begin and end at POSt along with games, food, Irish performers, a market, and more!
